Climbing up the hill north of Plaza Nueva will bring you into the rambling labyrinth of the Albaicín's streets.

The only part of Granada's Islamic neighborhoods to escape the reconquista torchings and "remodelings," Granada's traditional Islamic quarter- the Albaicín- remains just as captivating and atmospheric as it was hundreds of years ago. No wonder it has been named a World Heritage Site!
